Los Compadres which mean “The Friends” in Spanish began in 1941 with the founding of the Los Compadres Stables and Riding Club, with rodeos, western culture and fashion, horseback riding in the desert and foothills, the late iconic Mayor Frank Bogert, and the famous mink and manure social events. Nearby Smoke Tree Ranch reveled in the same culture with its western chuck wagon breakfasts, devoted riders, and vacationing “wannabe” cowboys from the halls of commerce and Hollywood. The residential neighborhood started in the late 70’s with a pocket of Spanish-style homes and has grown over the years to include approximately 600 residences, apartments and townhomes. The location is convenient to Palm Springs International Airport and shopping. Home prices range from 400K to One Million.
